I have been a board certified Occupational Therapist for over 10 years, working across the lifespan from infants to geriatrics. Like many other therapists, I discovered pelvic floor therapy after giving birth (twice) and experienced the body changes that came with it. I realized how little I felt empowered to understand my own body before, during, and after my first pregnancy. I felt alone in the healing process and did not feel right in my body anymore. Attending parent-baby groups, I discovered how many people thought peeing themselves or stopping exercise to prevent further prolapse or diastasis was normal – well, it statistically seems normal but it’s not functionally normal. I decided to do some research and discovered pelvic health.
As an occupational therapist I am constantly in the mindset that our bodies need to work functionally and believe in using everyday tasks to increase function central to a person’s health, identity, and sense of purpose. I am deeply passionate about giving people the tools they need to feel confident, comfortable, and successful in their journey of life. I decided to specialize to help women empower themselves throughout all stages of life.

To complement my interest in women’s health, I became a Certified Lactation Counselor and love treating parent-baby dyads. As a CLC and an OT, I am able to assess and treat breast inflammation and pain such as mastitis, blocked ducts, milk blebs, and cracked nipples as well as address positioning, pumping, nutrition, and ergonomics.
I love to approach pelvic floor therapy from biopsychosocial, movement, and mechanical approaches. With these approaches, I love looking at the body as a whole and integrating the whole body in treatment, from the jaw to the toes. Oftentimes these systems are looked at separately or just painfully ignored.
I am currently pursuing certification as a Pregnancy and Post Partum Exercise Specialist. I have also taken courses in pelvic rehabilitation manual treatment, John Barnes myofascial release, and holistic and integrative approach to pediatric pelvic health. I have found that there is a very real impact of pelvic floor dysfunction for many people and it is time to normalize pelvic health as a priority for all people at all stages of life. While we may not be able to perfectly heal you, I want to be able to listen to your story and give you the tools you need to reach your goals.
